The Kanomax Multi-Channel Anemomaster provides simultaneous real-time monitoring of air velocity and, as necessary, temperature and relative humidity in multiple locations. Due to its modular and easily configurable design, it can be assembled to monitor according to your own application requirements. If your application needs change and you find in the future you have to monitor more locations, expansion is straightforward and cost effective. A range of 11 shapes and sizes of probes are available for Velocity (V), Velocity + Temperature (VT), Velocity + Temperature + Humidity (VTH).
Applications
- Real-time monitoring of air velocity, temperature, and humidity in pharmaceutical and industrial production environments.
- Aerodynamics research (e.g. road vehicles, aircraft, etc.).
- Research and development (e.g. engine design, measurement of turbine efficiencies, etc.).
- Ventilation monitoring for energy efficient buildings.
- Cooling efficiency in electronic devices.
- Testing airflow within fume cupboards.
Configuration
The Multi-Channel Anemomaster is versatile, giving you the ability to choose from a range of monitoring probes to suit the needs of your application. Follow our simple 4-step process to configure your own system.
Step 1: Establish your monitoring needs and select the appropriate probes.
Select from 11 types of probes to suit your needs from the available list below. Choice of the probe is really as simple as checking the required air velocity range and directionality requirements in the area to be monitored.. (Note: You will need to decide on the length of cabling required from the monitoring point to the main unit. Standard probe cable lengths are 10m, 20m and 30m for all types of probes. Additionally, 2m and 5m probe cable lengths are available for the Velocity only probes.)
Step 2: Based on the selected probes, determine your module requirements.
Once you know the number and types of probes you require, you will need to determine the appropriate type and number of modules from available selection below. In addition, you will need to select an Analog Output module if you require an analog signal output.
Step 3: Based on your required number of modules, choose the model(s) of Anemomaster you will need.
You can choose from two models, one allowing up to 6 modules and the other up to 16 modules. Up to a total of 5 units can be cascaded together via RS-232C in one system if required and controlled by a computer. A centronics port is also available for connection to a printer.
Step 4: Please do call us to go over your configuration and place an order.
Call our expert sales team to verify your requirements against the chosen configuration, and discuss detailed specifications. We will be more than happy to help you to assess your configuration to ensure that it meets your present and future needs.
Features | Benefits |
| Large variety of probes to choose from. | Selection of probes with the ability to cover a range of velocities (directional and omni-directional) and the ability to measure temperature and humidity. Availability of probes in various sizes, lengths and shapes to fit your application. |
| Flexible multi-channel configuration. | Modules can be selected according to types of probes required and then mixed freely within the main unit. Extra probes and modules can be added as and when necessary according to your changing business and application needs. |
| NIST traceable accuracy of velocity probes ensured by temperature compensation. | Each probe is pre-calibrated carefully to determine its own unique characteristics for temperature compensation. It comes with its own calibration data stored in a ROM to keep interchangeability with other probes and to ensure precision. It also eliminates unnecessary downtime for calibration, so that spare probes can be purchased in advance and swapped into place, allowing monitoring of your production environment to be continued while removed probes are sent off in stages for their own yearly calibration. |
| Expandable up to 320 channels. | For a velocity-only system, this is the total number of measuring points possible on this system. This is a considerable number, able to fit the vast majority of large applications. Exact number of channels possible for your application will be determined by whether you require velocity measurement only or also need temperature and relative humidity. |
| Real-time monitoring with a central computer. | Ability to present all monitored environments in a central easy-to-manage location. Multi-channel Data Management Software monitors real-time measurement from all channels, calculates data, plots them on graphs and saves the data in text format for spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel. |

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the calibration for this system traceable?
Yes. NIST traceable certification for the individual probes can be purchased.
Do the probes need to be cleaned?
Depending on the environment in which they are placed, periodically cleaning may be necessary. For a particularly clean environment such as a clean room, this may not be necessary in between probe calibrations. For hard or adhesive dusts (metal dusts, sands, oils, coal tar) sensor may show lower accuracy if not kept at an optimal clean level.
Which probes can be cleaned and how can this be done?
Velocity probes and Velocity + Temperature probes can be placed in a small Ultrasonic Washing Machine containing pure water or ethanol, cleaned for 30 to 60 seconds, and then left to dry. (NOTE: Probes with Humidity sensors MUST NOT be cleaned in liquid.).
I’m interested in building a system with 25 air velocity probes, 20 air velocity + temperature probes and 10 air velocity + temperature + RH probes. I wish to monitor these points from a single location. What will I need to in order to set this up?
- 25 V probes require 7 V modules
- 20 VT probes require 10 VT modules
- 10 VTH probes require 10 VTH modules
- 27 separate modules require 2 Model 1550 systems with 5 spare module slots left for future expansion.
- Cabling as required from point of measurement to the unit.
- Data processing software (for Windows)
- NIST certificate with data per probe (if NIST traceable calibration certification is required for the system).
